Pre-Filing Bankruptcy Credit Counseling
The Pre-Filing Bankruptcy Credit Counseling Class is required before an individual can declare Bankruptcy, R.E.A.C.H. is approved to issue certificates evidencing completion of a credit counseling course in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code. The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 requires people who plan to file for bankruptcy protection (with limited exception) take a credit counseling class and receive a certificate of completion within 180 days before Bankruptcy filing. A debtor education class is also required to have debts discharged. These classes can’t be taken at the same time, however R.E.A.C.H. offers these classes monthly and for easy convenience can also be taken on line. Upon completion of the class you will be issued a Certificate of Completion.
Pre-Discharge Debtor Education
The Pre-Discharge Debtor Education Class is required before a certificate evidencing the completion of a personal financial management course in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code. The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 requires people to take a Pre-Discharge Debtor Education Class prior to receiving their Bankruptcy Discharge. This class will be offered by R.E.A.C.H. as an online course for your convenience or a face to face.
